Ume Japanese Apricot
The ume(Prunus mume) is a species of Asian plum. The tree flowers in late winter, typically February in Japan, before the leaves appear. Ume blossoms are often mentioned in Japanese poetry as a symbol of spring. We use it as a "kigo". The blossoms is very popular in Japan. I took this photograph of Ume in my backyard.
