Seagull Nebula

Seagull Nebula, IC2177

Seagull nebula is also known as Eagle nebula in Japan. It is a large nebula, about 120x40arc minutes area, located on the border between Monoceros and Canis Major. The brightest portion is the head of the bird. It is called NGC2327. Some open clusters are involeved in this area of IC2177. The picture above has also several clusters.

I have been taking picture of IC2177 for long years with film. Recently, I bought CCD camera I took it. Please have a look at IC2177 was taken with my CCD camera.
